The grilled catfish is excellent. The small hot sauce perfectly complements the gumbo. The portion sizes are generous, and the menu is extensive, offering a wide variety of options for everyone.

My favorites here are the grilled catfish and shrimp! Their hush puppies are fantastic, just like the ones I used to have back home. The only downside is that their grilled oysters need to be cooked a bit longer, but that’s a minor issue. I genuinely believe in supporting this business and think we should give them a chance to grow. The reason they don't have trash cans everywhere is that the waitstaff are expected to clean the tables, showing hospitality to their customers. They may be underutilized, which is understandable for a startup. Every business owner knows the challenges of starting out with limited funds. We need to recognize this and support new establishments like this one as a community! This was likely someone's lifelong dream, and they've worked hard to turn it into reality. It's heartwarming to see someone achieve something wonderful in their life and in our community! The building may be dated, but they are fortunate to have a place at all—it's truly a blessing! While the seating might not be perfect, at least they can accommodate their customers. Isn’t it nice to have a cool, air-conditioned space to escape the summer heat? They may not have a large staff, but the employees they do have are learning and doing their best as they begin this journey. Let’s stop complaining and start showing some gratitude and good old southern hospitality to our local seafood restaurant! The staff here deserves our tips; they help us enjoy the little things in life that matter. Remember, they are certainly blessed! Sam's Southern Food, we truly love you!
