40 Kapı Restoran

If you want to experience the atmosphere of old Turkey, then this is the place for you. The restaurant is located in the old town, in a building where a wealthy Armenian lived. The interior reflects ancient Turkey. We were in Kayseri for 3 days, and on the last day, based on the advice of friends, we came for dinner to the restaurant 40 kapi. The service is 5+, the food is excellent. On weekends there is live music, but we will check that out next time. Afterwards, you can take a stroll through the streets of the old town. We recommend it.

I recently found a fantastic restaurant in Kayseri - it's clean, delicious, with quality service, and an authentic atmosphere where you feel like royalty. I highly recommend it.

Very friendly owner. As per suggestion we ordered Adana Kebap and sivas köfte, lentil soup (mercimek). I half expected the soup to not be hot as the kitchen is on the other side of the building and it needs to be brought through some open air, a few stairs climbing, excusable. But the Adana kebap and sivas köfte was really good, it came along with burgul pilaf and decent salad on the side. Thoroughly enjoyed it along with the amuse bouche salad.
