We went there, as the reports on tripadvisor were very positive; unfortunately it was closed on that wednesday night (although it was supposed to be open Mon-Sat 6-12pm.) Even their webpage isn't working. Too bad, would love to try it. and give it a rating at all!
Nice vegetarian indian buffet for Sunday lunch for a very reasonable price (20.5 CHF.) Familly friendly atmosphere (space for kid, kindly staff.) The buffet is simple, we tried everything and everything was good and tasty. A la carte menu also includes meat dish from Filipins. I would deffinitelw recommand it!
My philippinian wife confirmed already during eating: 100% filipino, tastes just like mama in the visayas, the chef is by the way filipino. In addition to the Filipino classics, there are also Indian menues, on a vegetarian basis, wonderful aromas, delicious. we ate on Saturday over midday and then again on Sunday Brunch. The local is very spacious and makes a very family impression. on the usual decorations that are often found in asian restaurants in europa. for one may be too simple, I find comfortable and suitable. after wilmas kitchen in baths, now also basel has a real filipino restaurant. and these include occasionally caraoke evenings, lechon etc.
Fusion of Flavors is a unique concept I hadn’t heard of before in that it combines both Filipino and traditional Indian entrees on the same menu. It was my first time to Basel and I found this restaurant by chance on a warm autumn Monday night. Whenever I visit a city I haven’t been to before, I try to experience restaurants off the beaten track. This restaurant meets that criterion. As I was traveling alone this time, I was looking for a reasonably priced meal in a city where a steak could easily set you back $50.Open only a month and a half it is situated on Hammerstrasse two blocks from the tram line that runs up and down Clarastrasse. It is located in a very quiet residential neighborhood, on the ground floor of what looks like it could be a modern college dormitory. Inside and out, the restaurant is clean but not ostentatious or pretentious. The menu is in English and German.Being a Monday, the restaurant was empty save the chef and part-owner Raphael who that night served as host and waiter and who is exceedingly polite.I ordered the medium spicy Paneer Butter Masala and garlic naan and washed both down with an ice cold Feldschlossen, one of three beers on tap and which is locally brewed and wonderful. The rice was perfectly cooked, not dry or mushy, the naan was soft and moist and served hot and the curry Masala was exceptional though it wasn’t as spicy as I had expected. The bill for the naan, curry masala, a large and a small beer and a dessert Indian dumplings with vanilla ice cream garnished with mint leaves was just under $50 including tax.All in all, Fusion of Flavors was a great find and exceeded my expectations. If you or members of your party are into Asian and Indian, cuisine you must give it a try.
