Maidenhead Inn - Basingstoke and Deane

Overall, my experience at Standard Spoons was decent in terms of value for a meal out. However, there were some issues that affected our dining experience. We were served with dirty cutlery, which was frustrating as we had to wait in line to ask for new cutlery. This caused our food to get cold. I had the big cheese Christmas chicken burger, which was tasty but not significantly different from a regular chicken burger. The portion sizes were a bit small, particularly the halloumi fries. Despite this, the atmosphere inside the restaurant was nice and I have been here a few times before for food. I may consider returning in the future. My dining companion had the beef Christmas burger, which appeared to offer better value with two beef burgers included. Overall, while the experience was okay, I'm not sure if it was worth the price.

Firstly just to say, all the reviews left here seeking this place to be a top class eatery, its NOT, its a Wetherspoons, if your expecting food from The ritz, then go to the Ritz. These places are amazing value for money, thats why these people went there whom left negative reviews. Ive NEVER had a bad pint or food in ANY of these establishments. This particular Wetherspoons in the top of town in Basingstoke is always a pleasure to visit, always relaxed, attentive staff and a quick and polite service. I must add Ian in the bar is the ultimate polite and courteous bar man, his patience and manorism is second to none, i would pay this guy to give other bar staff from other pubs a lesson on just plain and simple being polite. Wetherspoons, you should look out for this employee, he will go far, he is the best you will find, think yourself very lucky you,ve got him.

Ordered on the app, even though it was quiet, we waited a long time for the drinks, would have been quicker to go to the bar and order. It’s in need of a deep clean, feels very dirty and I never saw a table wiped in the whole time we were there

Food looked good petty the staff behind the bar spent all their time talking to each other so never had chance to order.

Burger was burnt but apart from that food was still nice xx Kids food good Lots of tables are dirty still had plates on when I arrived.
