Best Western Lion - Bassetlaw

Whenever I meet a friend for lunch in town, we always come to this restaurant. However, yesterday we were disappointed to find that the menu was very limited, only offering sandwiches or jacket potatoes. I decided to have the cheese and onion sandwich on brown bread. I was expecting a higher quality, possibly made with granary bread, but instead it came on the thinnest and cheapest bread available. Both my friend and I are vegetarian and were disappointed to see that the sizzling halloumi plate, which we had enjoyed in the past, was no longer on the menu.

The food at this restaurant is quite tasty and there is a nice variety to choose from. However, we were not too thrilled about sitting next to locals who were just standing and drinking. It appears to be a popular spot for the locals to hang out. The food was served hot and didn't take too long to arrive, although we did find the prices to be a bit on the higher side.

Stayed for 2 nights in a spotless,quiet room with everything we needed. Tea,coffee,shower gel etc. Breakfast east tasty with a very good selection of hot and cold food. We booked through Groupon so terrific value for money. Right in the centre of Worksop with free parking. Would recommend to anyone.

Worksop town centre may have limited dining options, but this restaurant seems to be a popular choice among both locals and visitors. The menu is diverse and the staff is welcoming and attentive.

We have been here one night arrived late on Friday so first full day. About midday went to purchase a coffee from the bar area while my wife went shopping and was told I had to move 5 feet around the corner to another area to be served because the bar I as standing at was for waiters. There were only two people in the bar and no waiters, but still after talking to a manager ??????, I was told they would not serve me from this area, appalling customer service. Why not take my money and serve me without any fuss, these people get my Jobsworth award. Unfortunately we are here for another night, if I had been on my own I would have checked out today. I am afraid this is what Worksop is like no wonder the town is in decline if the service you get from these people is so bad.
