El Nuevo Mexico - Bastrop

We often pass Bastrop on the way to other places. A trip I asked someone who lives there to suggest a Tex Mexican restaurant and this place was highly recommended. We tried and it became our place to get dinner on the way home. I've never been disappointed. The decor is very Asian, Indian and Mexican, but the food is Tex-Mex.

Homemade tortillas! Great, fast tacos. Much and delicious! Quick to get your orders out. Must try!

Meh... it has potential, but must find consistency. The cheese enchilada on my plate was up to my standard sauce was not exaggerated, and they use the right cheese! My plate was extremely hot while the other plate came cold, and the cheese was hardly melted.

Confidential faces and cheerful atmosphere. Great food and an amazing bar! From Mexican Martini to Ceviche, my family and I are always so happy with the authenticity and quality of food and services.

Always a great choice for family night or date night. The menu expands beyond traditional choices but each element of every plate seems to be prepared with care. The helpful, personable and attentive staff are open to changes and substitutions to ensure everyone gets exactly what they want. While the signature dishes such as the pollo con mole and shrimp relleno stand out, they never stand alone, the beans are always just right, the rice is always perfect, the vegetables always fresh. All the food for a course arrives at the table at the same time to ensure everyone is served together. Hot food is always piping hot. The details are taken seriously here and although you may not always notice at the time, they add up to make the entire experience a pleasant one.
