We walked in at 2:35 on sunday and they close at 3. The guys working were great. They invited us in and said sit and stay as long as wanted. The food was really good and prices were pretty much spot on with other BBQ places in the area. We will go back.
Uhm, Wow. I just had their brisket Birria taco Brunch. Simply amazing and also unique- almost like gorditas with tasty barbacoa-looking meat, separate chopped onions/bell pepper, and a bbq dipping sauce. Kudos on that. Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful as well.
Thanks to Q and his crew! Having your delicious BBQ made my Mother’s Day very special! ?
Not a knock against Southside, but this is a hidden gem that is destined for growth. Check their hours before you arrive, because they're currently (as I write this only open Thu Sun from 11 3 PM. I ate in the restaurant, enjoying their eclectic, old school music (which was awesome , and while I dined, people were swinging by to stock up in To Go orders. I mean, why buy raw meat at HEB when these guys sell it prepped better than you could do at home? Others were dining in or eating on the porch. By the time you read this, they'll probably have a license to sell beer (now in process , and that might lead to an expansion of hours (hopefully . I'm the mean time, swing by for lunch on the back half of the week. But the start of the show isn't the convenient location or the great TX BBQ ambiance, but the food. I got the two meat plate with brisket and sausage, along with kale slaw (cole slaw with a bit of kale added to compliment and elevate the cabbage and mac n queso, which was divine, and which I felt a bit less guilty eating because of the kale : It was all spot on. I'll definitely be back. I also ordered some brisket chili to go, which was classic. On my next trip, I'll definitely try the birria brisket tacos! It's funny I noticed that among the great reviews, one person had given them a 1 star review. So I clicked through to see who would do that, and they were from Michigan. Context is everything :
