We had a lunch here. The food was decent and the restaurant looks nice and well maintained. But the experience was ruined by the unfriendly and rude service. It was as if we were a pure nuisance, having dared to step into the restaurant while it was open. It took us a long time to get the attention of the waiting staff when we needed it, and it felt that we were not even worth a look, let alone some kind words (even “hello” would have helped). The place is obviously popular since there was a queue of people waiting, and the food was quite OK, but not worth being treated like this.
The true taste of the Alentejo meat. This has been a place that pretty much every chance I get I got to. Never had anything that fell short from great. This being said make sure you get the pork Iberian pork. It is the best place I know to have pork. It is insanely great tasting.
Restaurante típico. Carne apenas, prato de peixe apenas tinha sopa de cação e só por encomenda. A lasanha vegetariana era congelada e foi servida fria. A carne era boa, lagartos com batata frita e arroz. Não é extraordinário mas não desilude. Quem não gosta de carne é não ir.
Based on the previous reviews I had developed expectations that were not met. My female table server was as friendly as an iceberg, almost rude. I almost walked out but having travelled 1.5 hours for this lunch I decided to stay. The quality of the food was average for the region, and on the expensive side. I could have had the same meal in Lisbon for 20% less. To charge more than 1 euro for two halves of a slice of bread is outrageous. The service was almost non-existent to comment. Bottom line, would I recommend this restaurant to a friend? NO!
