Mario's Pizza Of Bath

It was the best pizza place ever—kind of. I have so many fond memories of Mario's and its wonderfully mediocre pizza. Rest in peace, Mario's; your greasy pizza will always hold a special place in my heart.

Upon entering, we found the small-town vibe to be really cute, and the staff was incredibly helpful, answering all my questions. I know it's just a pizza shop, but I discovered that dining experiences can vary significantly even within a short distance from home. I ordered a pizza, some chicken fingers, and an Italian sub. Living in Boston, I’m used to standard Italian sandwiches, but the options in Maine were a refreshing change. I expected just a plain ham and cheese, but to my surprise, it was delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The pizza was good too, and everything we ordered met our expectations. I would definitely return if I’m in the area again. We even got a great picture of my son under the Mario sign—he was thrilled!

Afterwards, I called to share my concerns with the restaurant, only to be informed that the woman I spoke to was the owner, who then hung up on me. It was an incredibly upsetting experience, and I will not be returning.

Their Italian dishes are the best; we keep returning for more!

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and I immediately sensed that it was a favorite spot for locals. With the menu displayed on the wall and a counter at which to order, we decided on four grinders (or subs, depending on where you're from). Once we had our lunch, we headed back to the waterfront park to eat. I opted for a meatball and cheese grinder, and it was delicious. The meatballs and sauce were complemented by a generous amount of cheese, all served on a freshly baked roll that was excellent! My family also remarked on how much they enjoyed their choices as well. And I have to mention the price—each large grinder was only about $8.50! What a great value. I will definitely be stopping by again.
