Fantastic service and fantastic food. One of the better restaurants in Bathurst. Cosy relaxed atmosphere and food that didn't disappoint, everyone is catered for spicy and non spicy, generous portions, and delicious sweets. Will definitely be returning. Loved it.
Had dinner here with family and young kids recently whilst in town for the winter festival.Strange vibe. Glowing red signage and strong incense on entry..hey here for the food right!Burgers were great, steak was OK. Sangria was as it should be.Menu all looked great. Also games for the kids and friendly staff.
We first tried to visit here for a night out with friends but discovered it was all booked out for Taco Tuesday. It's probably a good sign that it's pretty popular if a walk-in table for four could not be had! We've called ahead since, but we've never had trouble on other nights of the week. Everything we've had has been delicious, and the staff have always been excellent, welcoming, and helpful. The menu is fantastic. There is a real understanding of complex flavours, not just heat. You can certainly get some crazy hot food (think eye watering wings and several hot sauce varieties on the table), but even the mild offerings have fantastic depth of flavour in the home made sauces. While I go toward the more Mexican of the Tex-Mex offerings (the vegetarian sharing plate and tostadas are a standout, but it's all great), they also have great burgers and my daughter's favourite is the chicken and waffles. The only thing that fell short of expectation was the poutine which kind of makes sense considering it's a Canadian thing being served in a tex mex restaurant. The drink menu is great too with some good imported beers (my husband would come here just for the nostalgia of ordering a sierra nevada pale ale and pretending he's back in California for a few minutes) and house made soft drinks by the jug like lemonade and fresh lime and soda. There's always an extensive specials board for drinks, milkshakes, and desserts, too.
My husband and I brought our two young children here for dinner and we all left absolutely satisfied. The ambience of the restaurant is relaxed and boasts Mexican fiesta styling which adds to the appeal. There is a variety of meals on the menu, all very reasonably priced and generous portion sizes to ensure you won't go home hungry. We shared a variety of starters, all which were flavoursome and comforting. We also ordered a meal each and again were impressed with the flavours and portion size. Staff were friendly and efficient and all meals were brought to us quickly. We would have loved to sample some of the desserts on the menu but unfortunately were too full. This will be something to look forward to at next visit!
