I was expecting a little more Louisiana Fair beyond just a few seafood plates. The seafood is not too bad, although I did find it a bit salty, but then again I always prefer a little less salt to my food than most people. The largest reason why I put the star rating so low is because I saw someone walk to the back kitchen and when they came back I thought they were the waitress as they were the only person I had seen for a while and gave her my order. I only found out a bit after that that she was not. Wasn't sure how to feel about that, but I don't think that was enough to absolutely ruin this location necessarily.Vegetarian options: As a soul food location, I don't think anything on this would necessarily be vegetarian or vegan friendly.Kid-friendliness: I didn't see anything that said this place was not appropriate for kids, but if you're looking for something with perhaps a kids menu or something for small kids to do while the food is prepared, this would not be an ideal location. That said, the place is family-friendly in the sense that everything looks nice and for the most part it didn't seem kid prohibitive.Parking: Parking is plentiful.Wheelchair accessibility: There were wheelchair accessible parking spots as well as wheelchair ramps.Dietary restrictions: If you're looking for something pescatarian, this place is definitely for you! If you are looking for something kosher, maybe not. I didn't see much in other areas that might not make it halal, but I can't really say. If you're looking for keto or something like that, I would not advise.
Friendly staff great food I ordered 2 Fried Chicken Plates it comes with three sides and three wings flavored to perfection
Maybe it was an off day but the red beans and rice were terrible , the fried fish and spaghetti were pretty good.
Super solid soul food spot in Baton Rouge. When I went they were only doing takeout orders. Not an issue, I was only staying about three minutes away. All the food was fresh and very flavorful. I do wish the cornbread was just a little more moist, but other than that everything was excellent. Their sweet potato pie was some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommended.
Oooooh soo good. No pictures because I didn't take the time. Small business with limited hours and options. Don't let that deter you. Make the trip. No dine in, either call ahead or order at the door and they'll bring it out to you. Daily specials. I went with meatloaf. Plates aren't cheap but the portions are generous and enough for two meals even if the cornbread is skimpy. Try them out!
