La Carreta Bluebonnet - Baton Rouge

The restaurant had a great atmosphere and I was pleasantly surprised that they accepted reservations through Open Table. I booked a table for 11 people at 7:45PM on a busy weekend, and although they weren't expecting us, they managed to seat us by 8:00. Kudos to the manager for making it happen.

Upon arrival, our reservation for a patio table was mistakenly set up inside. Despite being told there were no available tables outside due to busyness, we insisted that we had made the reservation for the patio a week in advance. Eventually, we were seated outside about 15 minutes after our scheduled reservation time. However, about 20 minutes passed and we still hadn't been attended to by a server. After expressing our frustration to the hostess, a server finally took our drink and food orders. Unfortunately, it took about 45 minutes for most of our table to receive their food, with some dishes needing to be taken home as everyone else had finished eating. The manager did eventually come by and offered a 50% discount on the bill, but his demeanor seemed to imply that the situation was our fault.

The Bluebonnet location WAS my favorite until earlier today. I'd written a note for the kitchen informing them that the quality of the food wasn't as good as it normally is. I didn't leave a tip. The waitress HAD THE NERVE to question me about why I didn't give her a tip! Well...it's my right and frankly, had the food been better, I would have left one. Since this experience, I WILL NOT BE RETURNING to this location again. The only tip I have for that waitress is to look both ways before she crosses the street and I will tell ALL OF MY FRIENDS AND FAMILY about my experience and make sure they don't spend their money at the BLUEBONNET location!!!!

Great venue, also surprised that they took Open Table reservations. I made a reservation for people at which was pretty surprising for a busy weekend....they were definitely not expecting us to show up but I give them credit as they had us seated by Great job to the manager for making it happen.

Great food and price!! The server was gone for long periods of time!
