The salsa has a nice kick and makes for a tasty starter! The service is friendly and efficient. Located right off the I-10 on Acadian, I highly recommend stopping by to give them a try.

Mestizo consistently offers fresh and delicious dishes. Their guacamole is simply the best! It's a cozy spot, but depending on your seating, it can feel a bit cramped, almost like you're in the walkway. My personal favorite is the shrimp and crab enchiladas. The staff can be a bit hit-or-miss at times, possibly due to high turnover, but I'm not certain. I often overlook this place because of its location, but whenever I do remember it, I always have a great time.

Mexican with a Louisiana twist! This is by far one of my top 5 favorite restaurants in Baton Rouge. They make a mean margarita and the Pacifico is one of my favorites. They also have a quinoa dish that is good enough to make you forget you're eating something that would normally taste like cardboard. It's covered with chicken, beef, avocado, what I think was a salsa verde sauce and an array of other flavorful delights.<br/ <br/ Mestizos is now one of the few restaurants in BR that has paleo and whole30 approved meals! That can be tough to find in the land of the fried!

Love love love the blend of Louisiana taste with the traditional Mexican! Guacamole was so fresh and the shrimp and crab enchiladas are amazing. It was a nice touch when the owner of the restaurant came to the table to check on us. Next time we're in Baton Rouge we will defiantly be back!

There are numerous entrees to choose from, and the food is fresh and delicious. The restaurant tends to be quite chilly, so I suggest that women bring a light jacket or sweater. The dessert was outstanding. The kitchen is fairly visible from the seating area, and while the atmosphere is welcoming, I wouldn't describe it as romantic.
