We ordered two shrimp small plates (one skewered, the other with fabulous toasted bread) and the potatoes with manchego flaked on top all were delicious! My pet peeve is overcooked shrimp, and ours were prepared perfectly. I also had a bowl of squash soup which tasted great and had a velvety consistency. Our service and cocktail were excellent. Highly recommend for authentic Spanish food!
My wife and I went on a Saturday early afternoon to celebrate her birthday and it was fantastic. We sat at the bar and we tried 5 different Tapas. Our favorite was the Piquillos and the Brussels sprouts. The Caesar salad was delicious as well. It came with anchovies. That made the salad. We finished off with the seafood Paella. This was easily our favorite part of the meal. So freaking good. Of course we had multiple drinks. The Solera Old Fashion was my favorite and the Mangonada was also really good. We will return soon to try more tapas. I definitely recommend this place.
Amazing dinner, will have to make time to come back! Thank you Solera for an amazing dinner!
There are hundreds of fast food places, dozens of Southern/Creole restaurants and a few really good steak restaurants in the area but Solera dares to be different. First, the food... We had four different Tapas and each got a desert. We weren't disappointed with ANY of the above. In fact, if we could have eaten more, we would have. The portion sizes are perfect for sharing while leaving your appetite wanting more. The frozen mango drink was magnificent. The service was perfect, atmosphere really good and the server (Katie) was always available and helpful. We will definitely be going back to try more Tapas.
The mangonada was the highlight of my visit. It had great flavor and was strong. We thought it was happy hour but they stopped doing happy hour on Saturday. The restaurant is nice and the service was good as well but I was disappointed in the food. I ordered this stuffed peppers on a crostini with a honey drizzle and there just wasn't much flavor. My guest had the gulf fish, which she also said didn't have much flavor. After that, I thought I'd order something else just to try so I ordered the charcuterie. When I saw it, I was confused and disappointed because it was small, the presentation wasn't good, and I saw no cheese. When the waiter came back I told him I was confused about what I ordered and I sent it back. When we asked for the checks the manager came and apologized. I told him my concern that there was no cheese and showed him the picture. At first he agreed, and then upon looking closer he said it was under the bread. But he was very nice about it, took it off my check and apologized again.
