Kumo Sushi Hibachi Lounge - Bay Shore

We passed several Japanese restaurants and decided to try the food at Kumo. The family was seated and menus presented Had questions about a dish Got a dismissive waiter The hibachi chef presented himself and entertained us as he prepared the food The waiter seemed bothered at our presence We entered the restaurant at 820 pm with lively music being played 0900 pm no music 0920 pm no heat The waiter was indirectly saying hurry up eat and get out Very rude management Fake Japanese food We expected better service Definitely not coming back Avoid these rude workers

Kumho, I am so sorry I have to do this. I’ve been going here for 5 years and as of the last 2-3 months my family has gotten food poisoning twice after eating here. Last time I thought it may have been somewhere or something. But the facts are that just last night and this morning my wife is sick to her stomach after eating here….same for me two months ago after eating here. Something has definitely changed at this restaurant and they are just not on top of food safety standards or quality like they once were. Considering we tip phenomenal to the chef and the staff …..something has to be done. Whether you have 8 people at a table or 2 the food needs to be safe without exception. I simply cannot bring my family here anymore and would appreciate a refund.

I've been here over 15 times and never once have I been disappointed. Never tried the hibachi, only sushi and their drinks. The sushi is VERY fresh and the staff is incredibly fast and friendly! You definitely get what you paid for.

I made an order online for delivery. The restaurant charged my card and said they had no proof of the order and would not refund me. The man screamed at me that he didn’t care because he had no delivery order pending and then hung up on me. I had to dispute the charges with my bank for a refund. Horrible Horrible service.

They get 3 stars do to the food was good but disappointed!! Big sign outside of bldg says happy hour with all the specials. Go to the bar No one at the bar. Can I see happy hour specials. Bartender says we don't have happy hour!?? Also on the website... Take down signs or honor your specials!!
