It was still very busy and from the appearance inside more a bar/sports bar than a restaurant... We we’re ushered outside on terrace, the staff were clearly run off there feet as this cafe/restaurant is on a riverside it took a while to get the menu let alone the order... tv blasting inside. The food was good, standard brassiere style, location pretty good as well, service quite slow the waiting staff seemed to change sections 1/2 way through service) thus us repeating our food/drinks orders several times to staff... Thus said fairly enjoyable meal for our first night in Bayonne before we start ‘Camino de Santiago‘ in st Jean pied de Port.
It was quiet when we arrived but soon filled up. Our starter of squid and octopus was hot and tasty. However the main course of Lotte fish dish wasn't very hot and not much of it for the price. Served onto a cold plate most likely. The cheese dish comprised of only two choice of cheese on the plate and some lettuce, no crackers biscuits or grapes, rather poor and basic I'm afraid. For the prices charged it wasn't worth the money, the atmosphere was pleasant, by the river side, but go elsewhere preferably to where the locals go, for more reasonable prices.
Sorry, but the meat was really hard eating! I wouldn't recomend it to anyone. Maybe only today (i was told they had changed the supplier)but today...hum...not so good! The prize was also to high for the average quality.
Needed somewhere for four children and three adults to eat. Most places in Bayonne full, but we were accommodated inside. Good service. Childrens meals excellent and very promptly served (just what the children needed! . Adults all had fantastic steak and frites beautifully cooked steak.
Bad service, unfriendly staff quests are more for disturbing the staff than an income or pleasure for work) Pity they gave this advertisement for Bayonne.
