Excellent food, I recommend the menu, even if you pay a little more it is a place worth visiting in Bayonne.
I ordered a 4 euro glass of rose today and was charged 5 euros.......I tried to say something but the waitress wasn't listening to me.....
We ussually go to Bayonne for "Faire du Jambon". For 3 years in a row we have gone to this place because food is good. However, the experience this year has been more than disappointing. After booking a table for 1400 (we asked the day before the latest hour to attend), when arrived, the unpolite waitress said our table was for 1300. Instead of accepting their mistake, and give our party of 5 a table of the many available, the very Own Chez Martin himself said it was our mistake and only possibility was to eat outside with not a very good temperature and definitely not a good table. A really unpleasant, and un-friendly situation for a more than normal food. Don't waste your time and money for go there. Although food is correct, doesn't worth the treatment. A good restaurant is not based only on the food. A fare treatment is a must.
Modern basque cuisine with fresh and local ingredients. A daily special for the everyday customers and amazing brunches on sunday. The chef, Lionel, is well known on french television for his love of cooking and great creativity. During a visit in Bayonne, you should definitely make a reservation to visit this small and cute restaurant.
