Goldener Anker - Bayreuth

Once the beauty of this cozy restaurant is matched by the quality of the food. nothing beautiful, but only fresh and excellent products perfectly prepared. everything we ate was delicious, with this home-made feeling that fills not only her, but also her spirit....See food best. it is the kind of place they want to go back and forth when they feel that they need a good meal. a special mention for French cheeses. in the heart of Bavarians they would not expect such a selection. friendly service of young employees under the benevolent view of the owner to ensure that the guests are happy. yes, it is this type of place, still with a owner and warm personality, not a manager and fantasy concepts. pretty, very precious.

When entering the restaurant golden anker in bayreuth they feel the beating wings of many opernfestspiele, but after a few minutes they have changed the times. a friendly waiter visits them and shows them the menu that is the smallest I ever...seen two appetizers, three mains and two desserts, and if we ask for other alternations, the answer was no. we thought to leave the restaurant because the wine card also floats. Apart from German weeping there were many other weeping from other countries, but many were outside and many so old that they have been above the hill for years. we stayed, but it was a mistake. of the meny we have chosen suppe, derecote and cheese. the suppe was average with frozen cuts that derecote with soft and not crispy pommes friten was uneatable. the cheeses were good, but this court, which was the only positive feature, was pampered by an open carafe of red Bordeaux wines. ok, it was true, it was an open wee and I think it was open for 3 or 4 days as it was totally oxygen-free. the service was by itself in a class. two friendly waiters, who were totally exaggerated by the above, was a mix between a former female opera singer and woman hyacinth. a lot to talk about opera and totally a very disloyal wise excuse that the waiters were very unprofessional, but it is very hard to get qualified workers after the corona crises!!!! we did not eat the entrecote and borrowed the waiter with the kitchen, the agreed that the meat was not good, but when we got the leak and the above mentioned that we were not happy with the main course, she replied that entrecote was not submitted and that was as it was tell me who was unprofessional. in general a very expensive and one of the worst restaurant evenings I have ever experienced, and as a conclusion of the service, eat, wein and price you will find another restaurant in this beautiful city. le

We were in the beautiful hotel and had dinner in the restaurant. very nice ambiente, friendly service, tasty eating and wide choice of weeping.

This restaurant is located in the very magnificent old hotel golden anker, which is a very elegant and historical guest house with many interesting connections. the decoration of the restaurant itself is very attractive and romantic wonderful wood paneling and pleasant table settings etc....Satually, the food dishes are only reasonable, without medium excellent, and the wine list is quite limited. bayreuth is an attractive and elegant city with the world-famous opernfestival wagner, which takes place every summer four weeks. this hotel is perhaps the best in town and restaurant has the potential to be the best. unfortunately at the moment it is not.

The restaurant is an old, perfectly maintained fascinating place in the heart of Bayreuth. Nothing has changed since the last twenties when it was refurbished with elegance. It is a worthwhile experience to sit down and enjoy the old fashioned charme and the good service...(even if not impeccable). That said, the menu is absolutely disappointing and over priced. It is not a question of how much you pay, but of what you get for what you pay. There is no possibility to choice beyond a fixed menu. Food is good but quite generic. Nothing really remarkable among the three-course dinner. It is a pity, this unique location would deserve a definitively better restaurant.
