New Jade Island Cuisine - Beaufort

This place might be permanently closed. Our GPS took us to a Subway nearby. It’s a shame because it sounded like a great spot.

I decided to try this hidden gem through DoorDash on my final evening in town. As a fan of Caribbean cuisine and someone who has visited Jamaica, I know what good Caribbean food should taste like. I can confidently say that this place truly gets it. I ordered the jerk chicken and the brown stew chicken, and both were exceptional. The flavors were vibrant, and the chicken was juicy, tender, and packed with taste. The red beans and rice were cooked perfectly, and the cabbage was just right as well. Excellent job! If I lived in the area, we would definitely be on a first-name basis. You can really taste the love in the food—keep up the fantastic work! Cheers!

The food was tasty, but I had an issue with my order placed through DoorDash. I was supposed to receive a side of sweet plantains, but it was missing from my delivery. This seems to be a mistake on the part of the restaurant staff for not ensuring the order was complete.

Haven't visited an island spot in the last 3 years, but since I moved to Beaufort in January, the first thing I did was look for West Indian food since I was born and raised in the Caribbean. New Jade provided it and it was delicious. Friendly, courteous and great service. I've been there 4-5 times in the last month with my family for food. Never a disappointment with portion sizes, price, or service. Would definitely recommend.

The food here is excellent! You definitely won’t be disappointed. I travel over an hour just to dine here. Highly recommended!
