Carmela's Mexican Restaurant - Beaumont

Our boss had Carmela's ordered for us and man did they ever deliver. The food was great, the atmosphere inside was awesome, smelled awesome as well, and the staff was so helpful. We had fajitas for 8. It was so delicious. Everything fresh and hot.Thank you!!! Keep a rockin Carmela's.

Really disappointed in this place. We were in town from Houston and picked this place because of all of the high reviews. We read some where people drive from Houston to go here, and I don't understand why. The salsa taste like flavored tomato sauce. Weordered the beef fajitas for two. The beef was chewy and just tasted like lime. The flavor was overpowering. The tortillas weregood and homemade. The rice and beans were pretty good, but the meat was just such a disappointment. We had to flag our waiterdown to ask for the check. Service was just kinda meh.

I was ignored by my server Manuel the entire time I was there, my food was fine but my server would check on tables around me, inquiring for needs, offering refills, and such but he would pass me by. There was nothing wrong with my appearance, and I waspolite and courteous when I was able to flag him down, but he took his time returning. I was truly shocked by his behavior andconsidered asking him if I had done anything, but I knew I had not. I have often heard that some of the mexican restaurants areprejudiced but I found that difficult to believe until this experience. Was it because I was an older caucasion woman diningalone? Pity, because I am a very good tipper. Today was the exception leaving only 15% which was still undeserved. If I returnagain I will refuse seating in any section Manuel is responsible for.

Staff was very friendly. Prices reasonable. But I ordered the chicken al pastor (instead of a la parilla) and it was honestly super dry. Not bad enough for me to bother returning it (I was in a hurry to get back to Houston) but still noticeable enough tobe noteworthy. Queso was good. Rice was good. Maybe I caught them at a bad time. See for yourself.

Always a good place to eat. The staff is nice. Eating is always on point with good prices. Margaritas are great. We also order here for my job, and it's always right and the price is right. We enjoy Carmelas restaurant every chance we get!
