It's hard enough good dinge to say about the cocottes. in a city with more than 200 restaurants, most of those for tourist, this place is special: it is mainly local, people who really know and appreciate good eating. the chef who is the owner... prepares dinge on the basis of the season and local ingredients. yes they have regional classics, but also many other things he decides to put on the menu, so it is unusual and interesting. it is rounded off by a great wine list that goes deep into burgundy, but also beyond, with many other great wines. the prices are really appropriate for the quality of food, glasses of wine begin at 6 euro, some escape at 12, etc. an evening meal for two with aperitif and several glasses wein and dessert average 100 euro we have eaten there three times on this trip, each time when the place is full of people who enjoy themselves, the soundtrack is laughing and happy to eat that are perfect.
A beautiful evening in this excellent French restaurant. service was friendly and very patient and helpful while we tried to decide which dishes to have. I had euf cocotte in creamy leak sauce perfect! my partner had the Burrata salad good....We both had the names for the main thing. for years we have been eating and in a creamy senf sauce with butter potatoes they have not disappointed. beautiful evening and would definitely recommend.
We came here on the recommendation of a blog and then the guy at the wine tasting also said it is his favourite restaurant. Eat where the locals eat!! The service was fantastic, the food was amazing, pan fried scallops with buffalo mozzarella to start,...my other half had the cod and I had to duck with mushrooms from the chefs special board. Honestly everything was fantastic. The wine list is extensive, however we picked a relatively cheap local wine which was served beautifully and tasted great. A must visit on any trip to Beaune. Best meal of the week. Make sure you reserve, and they let our dog come in!!
Great little bistro which offers extremely well cooked food by friendly, welcoming staff. For starters we both had escargots which had nuts added which really was an interesting and tasty addition to this dish. For the mains my parter had scallop risotto and I had...king prawn risotto and both dishes were superb. Desserts were a dish called Paris best which was a pastry kind of cake which was ok, but not great, and I had chopped banana with melted chocolate which was very nice. All this and a bottle of very nice wine came to just under €100. I would highly recommend this busy, clearly very popular restaurant.
