Marcello Pizzeria, - Bedford

I recently ordered lasagne at this restaurant. I was willing to pay £8 for it, but I was disappointed to find that it was smaller than a frozen Birds Eye lasagne. I made sure to request no anchovies on my pizza, but they still put them on and took them off, as I found one near the end of my meal and almost got sick. Additionally, I paid £7 for a garlic pizza that was undercooked. Despite the pizza being good overall, the presence of anchovies ruined the experience. I have no intention of returning to this restaurant. They should have replaced my pizza after the anchovy incident, but it seemed like they didn't want to lose the one they had already made. Overall, a terrible experience.

We visited an award winning family owned pizza restaurant in Venice while we were on honeymoon in August of this year and we realised that high street 'pizza ' retailers were now dead to us! But, where can you get authentic Italian Pizza in Bedford? In short, Marcello 's!!! They were recommended to us by an Italian friend from my work and how glad are we that she did?! The pizza was amazing. Freshly cooked crisp, light base, delicious tomato sauce, beautiful mozzarella and lightly spiced pepperoni. This is my fall back choice and I know what I like and what I don 't. A lot of pizzas leave you dehydrated and disappointed but not Marcello 's. Seasoning was perfect and the herby undertones just what I wanted. I know there are a couple of other places that are comparable to Marcello 's but really, are they going to be head and shoulders above them? I don 't think so. If you want a fairly priced fantastic quality pizza delivered piping hot and quickly then Marcello 's is a safe and sensible bet. For us they are now our goto choice. Thank you!!!

Hands down, the best pizza I have ever had in Bedford! The tomato base is what truly sets it apart, it's my favorite base out of any pizza I have ever tried. My go-to toppings are aubergine and courgette with balsamic vinegar, and it is absolutely delicious! The starter of aubergines in tomato sauce with cheese was also a delight and got me even more excited for my main dish. The aubergines were cooked perfectly. The service was excellent as well, with the waitress noticing me pulling in and bringing my food out before I even got out of my car. Exceptional and attentive service! I will definitely be ordering from here again soon.

The main issue with somewhere like this is you are starving when you order but because it takes so long for the food to get to you by the time it's here the magic has left the building and you are nolonger interested or excited about the pizza. When you crack open the box it doesn't look appetising however tastes really good. The answer is easy for me Dominoes are quicker and tastes good. So if you can handle the wait order from here

Marcelo gives us a delicious pizza on a nearly weekly basis. The tray pizzas are great value for a group, perfectly cooked every time.
