And the side of bread to mop up the left over garlic and butter was perfect. For mains we both had the lamb. It came with two lamb cutlets, panko crumbed slow roast shoulder of lamb, carrot puree and some wilted kale. The lamb was beautifully tender and the potato was some of the best we've had for ages. Again the serve was generous. We were pretty stuffed after entree and main (the sizes are generous and the dishes are very well priced) but we forged ahead and had dessert. I had the cointreau pannacotta with chocolate mouse and orange gel. Not only was it beautifully presented but it was divine. I love pannacotta but it can some times be sickly sweet and too rich. Not so at Chef and Co. The cointreau flavour was definitely present and the whole dish was light with just enough sweetness to satisfy. My partner had the blueberry and apple crumble. He said it was perfectly balanced although it could have done with more ice-cream (if it had come with a whole tub of ice-cream he'd have said the same). We were so so pleased to find Yvonne Khan at the helm when we arrived and knew that we'd be in for a great evening. We weren't disappointed. Yvonne and Darren do a fantastic job. The waiters are well trained, efficient and friendly. Our wine and water was kept topped up all evening. Really the only slight niggle with the noise. But most restaurants in Perth on the noisy side these days. We really enjoyed the food and service and we'll be back.
Can’t post a photo of the food. It was too delicious and had to be gobbled immediately. Great menu and friendly service. Thanks Chef Co
The wait staff were very helpful and polite, nice music, and the place is very spacious, with good spacing between tables. Lastly but most importantly is the food! All of it was delicious. Very fine flavours and not too overpowering. The arancini balls were some of the best I've had, very moist and succulent without too much salt.
We went to Chef Co Saturday night. I had read reviews that slammed the service badly and rated the food well. Well can I say, it was probably the best meal out I have had in a long time. The service was outstanding, attentive without being intrusive and meal came out in just nice timing...definitely not tardy. The wait staff were courteous and polite. <br/ <br/ The meal..OMG was delicious. It would have to be the best garlic bread I have had in a long time and the lamb backstrap lamb cutlets were cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. My husband had the beef fillet which he said was excellent also. We both had sticky date pudding, cream extra ice cream for dessert....presentation faultless and delicious. I will definitely go back. Prices reasonable for meal.
The service at this restaurant was very challenging for our party of 10. We had to constantly flag down the wait staff, who seemed understaffed and overwhelmed, to no avail. It would have been helpful if they had informed us of the situation so we could have been more understanding. The shared starter was tasty, but there was not enough bread for the amount of pate provided, leading to waste. The beef fillets were supposed to come with gratin potatoes, but instead were served with french fries like a casual pub meal. My duck dish was cold and lacking in flavor, making it a struggle to finish. The lamb, on the other hand, was delicious but not served hot. Overall, both the food and service were below average and we are unlikely to return. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: A$60–80.
