Feedback gevenMy family and I , have visited Bedouin annually during July for the last 20 years, often by bike, and if not by car. The Bar du Cours has been a favourite, both with the previous owner, and the current owners for the last 7 or 8 years. There seemed to be a staff (owners) of 3 servers, one of whom, a lady, was most welcoming and always remembered her Customers from previous years. Sadly this year she was not there and the service was rude and indifferent from the 2 remaining waiters. So much so that we moved bars for the remainder of our time in July. So sad when this happens and a good relationship is wrecked by rudeness and indifference.
Popped in for a quick beer. Went inside and sat at the bar as outside it was dark and cold. Hear what people say that it’s central and a great place to observe the French preening themselves. However, indoors this place is hideous. The couple who run it are obviously still pissed off they didn’t appear as the innkeeper and wife in Les Miserables. Tried to achieve eye contact and crashed and burned. However locals came in and they became like my dogs when I bring them back a treat. You get the impression that there are differential tariffs for locals and us foreigners who dare ask for service or what they think of as service. As to what to drink bearing in mind you are in one of the best wine areas in the world you get **** wine from a box. Nostalgically this reminds me of cafes in France I first visited 50 years ago when I couldn’t wait to get out of them. Do you know they obviously make a killing here and still resent the people who facilitate this for interrupting their time to reflect, think about Camus, Proust and the meaning of life post enlightenment and other high ideals. Also I thought there was a pan European no smoking -ban has Bedoin go stuck in a different time warp? Shame as the situation is perfect but that’s just about it. Think what they could do if they tried 10% harder? 50% and you never know they’d be flying.
Best place for drinks etc in Bedoin. Located right on the corner in the main square in perfect view of the coming/going Best just before the Petanque
We didn't eat it, but the tappas they served look really good.
Every time we come after bedoin we go into this cafe. the service is simply great and meanwhile we are already greeted with handbeat. The drinks are good and have a good price. Mondays, when market is in bedoin, we pick up at the baker next door (olivero ravel) croissants and drink our coffee here cozy. In the afternoon/dinner we also like to drink a pastis, then there is still a small chill. here we just feel right on holiday.
