It just melted in my mouth! Twinkies are delicious and I would definitely upvote making them a little spicier! Don't make the same mistake I did and check your food when you get home. Check your food before you leave, one time I got jipped after I tried to order two orders of Texas twinkies and only received four total. (Rather than two sets of three)
Nice flavor served dry but I'm glad I ordered sauce on the size....just my personal preference to have sauce. Portion size was good. Cornbread is outstanding. Frustrating to have curbside pick up and they don't give you straws for your drinks, no napkins, no utensils. It wasn't until we drove away and looked in the bag did we realize we couldn't eat our food...... I'll definitely go back and try other items.
We've been wanting to try them for awhile now, especially since we'd heard great things from them in their old location. What a letdown. The brisket was so over-smoked, that's all you could taste...smoking is supposed to add flavor, enhance the natural taste of the meat, this was just bad. The turkey, also smoked, was so beyond overcooked we had to just toss it, it was inedible. Cornbread, was dry and tasteless. I was hoping it'd be a standard sweet southern style, took a bite and tossed the rest. The beans were good, as was the pork belly bites...although a bit undercooked, the fat was still chewy. I was really looking forward to the Texas Twinkies, but again a major disappointment. The brisket inside was overcooked and tough, the bacon almost leather it was cooked so much, and the over-smokeyness was again way too much. Unfortunately, the wont be getting our business any longer, especially since they're now deleting any and all comments on their Facebook page that say anything negative even remotely. Not the way to run a business, and I fear they may wind up losing a considerable amount of business if they keep censoring constructive criticism. Customer feedback is how you learn, and if you wont accept any of it, that's how you run your business into the ground. Being pig-headed in a bbq business is not the kind of irony you want. The price is a bit high for this style food as well, and while I could possibly justify spending that much for good quality authentic smoked bbq...the food was essentially inedible. I really hope they start listening to their customers, I'd hate to see a local business fail when they worked so hard to get where they are. I really wanted to like them...but wow, what a letdown.
New location! Drove all the way out to Belfair only to find that dirt lot location closed. I like the Bremerton location. Looks like future indoor seating will be available here. Ordered 2 racks of ribs, links and sides. You can order online or walk in and order.
Very disappointed Just ordered and got home with 64 worth of food, thinking it was going to be big portions. Got 1 pound brisket, 1 pound turkey, 1/2 pound ribs, and 12oz Mac cheese. Brisket was extremely fatty and the macaroni portion was a joke for 12oz. Had to throw away most of the brisket because literally half of it was fat. Was looking forward to this place due to good reviews and it's new...but unfortunately, we wouldn't recommend. If you want BBQ, go to Danny's in Silverdale by the skate park. They put their brisket in sauce and it's shredded, unlike this place. You pay around the same amount of at Danny's for way more food. Their brisket also isn't fatty. This place was just plain bad...we won't be coming back.
