Food was excellent and good value for money. Staff were really helpful and friendly. Would recommend a visit
On a recent city break to Belfast, my wife and I, our son and his partner decided to use McHughs Bar as our venue for Dinner on our first evening in the city. We'd been unable to get through to the bar to book a table so decided to take a chance and turn up anyway. We got there about 7pm only to find that the Kitchen had been closed for renovations a short time earlier. Luckily, we decided to make a booking for the following night at 6;30 and left to find somewhere to eat. That evening was our only disappointing meal in Belfast, I won't mention where we ended up but suffice it to say it wasn't a place to return to as the service was terrible and there were a number of discrepancies with our orders. The next night however was a revelation, good plain irish cooking served in one of the oldest buildings in Belfast and by some very friendly and helpful staff. Thank you
While exploring Belfast for the day, we came across this lovely pub on our way back to the hotel. The atmosphere, food, service, and live music were all excellent. I would have given it a perfect 5 stars, but my fish pie had more potato than fish. The bar staff were fantastic in helping me choose some local beers to sample.
Our first evening in Belfast and came across McHughs, the oldest building in Belfast, great place to eat, food delicious staff very friendly.
