Nico's Pizza Pasta - Belfast

The staff at the restaurant was very friendly and accommodating, and the food was both delicious and plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit, especially the conversation about limoncello!

CHANGED THE DOUGH AND INGREDIENTS. it used to be an authentic Italian takeaway, now it’s like a cheap dominoes. Please change it back ! It used to be the best!

Have had food from Nicos several times before and always really enjoyed it. However last night my view was irreparably changed. As I was waiting for my food to be prepared for 40 mins I observed a female member of staff practising unsafe food hygiene. On my arrival she was wearing blue gloves. I watched her go from task to task without washing her hands or changing the gloves. She went from preparing and handling food to emptying bins. She occasionally disappeared out the back of the kitchen and quickly returned with food items. I observed this cycle for at least 30 minutes. I felt I needed to challenge her on her on this when I then witnessed her retrieving a pizza out of one of the pizza ovens and then proceeding to poke her grubby gloved hands into the top of another customers pizza. I was absolutely disgusted! She seemed completely aloof that her practises were anything other than acceptable. A male member of staff then appeared and offered a rather weak apology. Again, he did not demonstrate any insight into this food safety issue! With this, the female disappeared out the back of the kitchen. She returned again after a brief period, again with gloves on. She may have washed her hands and/ or changed her gloves however I am not entirely convinced. I have no idea how long this female member of staff was on shift but for all I know she had been carrying out the same cycle of practises for an entirety of a shift whilst wearing the same gloves. To add insult to injury, no refund or any alternative complaint resolution offered in light of this experience!

Family pizzas perfect for my husband and family. I personally love the Mare as I'm the only one who eats seafood. Friendly staff and the best food. X

The pizza at this restaurant is made with a fresh and flavorful base, crispy crust, and loaded with generous toppings. You can't go wrong with this choice.
