Firstly the manager tried to take a plate away which was clearly not finished with. Secondly he then tried to take away an unfinished bottle of wine. The last straw was when one of my party commented on the food he had ordered in that it was bland and pretty tasteless. The manager started to argue and shouted at us. I have been in the hospitality industry for a very long time, as are two others in my party. The manager then ignored us and didn't ask if we needed or wanted anything else. It wasn't the first time this manager was rude to us but we had just let the first experience go. If you want good, polite service go elsewhere. I will never put foot in there again while that horrid man is there.
My partner and I booked dinner here last night. We ordered spinach and Onion baji for starters and it was like liquid slop. The pakora was another starter and was also tiny and didn’t taste fresh at all. There is no way they were worth the money. We had chicken madras with rice and I counted 6 small pieces of chicken in my meal. The rice was also extra and again a tiny portion. I used to go to this place often and noted the standard of food has definitely slipped. I will not be back. I considered the meals to be inadequate. The waiter taking the order got it completely wrong and had to be corrected twice before leaving the table to place it. His summary was lamb and not chicken.
We arrived at 5pm and were pressured to place our order for 20 minutes, even though we were told we had the table until 8pm. Finally, at 5.20pm, we placed our order and the food arrived within 5 minutes, indicating that it was pre-prepared and reheated. By 6pm, our table was fully cleared and the owner kept asking when we would leave. We decided to leave at 6.20pm and do not plan on returning. The service was terrible and the owner's behavior was awful. I would recommend avoiding this restaurant at all costs!
I am not one for normally leaving bad reviews but after the service that my friend and I both received last night, I felt I had no choice. This wasn’t my first time at The Naz but unfortunately after last night, it will be my last. So where do I start, myself and my friend had booked a table for the 2 of us, only to arrive and find a table of around 10 men sitting behind us who were shouting so much that we couldn’t hear ourselves think or speak. Now I am all for going out and having a good loud laugh with your mates but there is a time and a place, and The Naz is certainly not it. We politely asked the waiter to see if they could do something about the noise and the request was laughed at and ignored basically! Then another waiter came over to inform us that my friend’s order had been served to another table, instead of offering to cook her up the same meal and apologise for the wait time, he just told her to take a completely different meal. Then when we had just about finished our meal, we were then asked to move to another table as they wanted to use our table for another booking, do bear in mind this was still within our 2 hour booking. All in all it was not a great experience , especially when you work all week, and look forward to a nice relaxing Indian and wine on a Friday night. Fair to say it was far from relaxing last night, as we both left with thumping headaches!
Tasty food, properly cooked and delicious. Great value. Great service. Best menu we've seen in an Indian restaurant. Lovely spicy combination. Not overly saucy. Old quality meat. We keep going back now every week. Beats even Brick Lane for flavour and price. Favourites are saag aloo, the mixed starter, dansak, jalfrezi and balti. Nana are fresh and nice selection of chutney for crispy pops.
