We are used to eat Indian palate, in France it is never quite... the same. We cost our meals, felt very full after lunch. Worth visiting.
My colleagues and I were recently in belfort and one night we decided to try this Indian restaurant. the waiter was kind, sat us and took our order. that came to eat, a part of the food came. I had chicken tikka masala and it was good. not fantastic, but actually good. the problem was that the naan we ordered came when we finished the main course. the mango leti was also very good. two more things, the sections were small and the prices high. no good combination.
... not just... On our way we found this Indian restaurant, cried and asked about the dog and the cook told us it's okay. When we arrived, the waiter was really not thrilled about the dog, but the boss offered us a table at the side. Menue came fast, also drinks, but had to wait some time to order the food. We ordered some bread, it came together with some dives. We also ordered fried onions, they came later, but no one told us that the dips were for the onions, so we ate them with garlic bread. Bread and dips are very tasty, onions okay. We also asked for new dips, was not a problem, but needed his time. Then came the second dish, two kinds of rice and a Dal. We don't know Indian food, but there was no explanation and we didn't know one of the rice dishes was the second main course. In the end we had left the “normal” rice we thought for the second dish. But we like rice, so we asked for more dips for rice... never arrived. So we wanted to pay. Just the question of whether we're done, we said yes. Forget the dessert, but not a comment. We remembered that there was a dessert with the menu and then asked, we told them we had forgotten. Again, the not really friendly waiter told us that there are ice cream or dairy, but we said the boss told us something else. But okay, we'll take the ice. Finally, one of the menue desserts came, there were two to choose. But no question we prefer, not the ice, we chose. Everywhere it was vegetarian, the boss was pretty friendly, the dog could go with us. Menu was average, waiters really unfriendly, no explanations at all.
The 3 of us have been to this restaurant after the business meeting by the time when all local French restuarants were closed. The food is really good, the staff is very friendly. We did not really read the menu and followed the recommendeations of...the host. The result was just perffect, everyone had something that he really liked.
Thought I would check this place out seeing as my hotel was just round the corner I did get my hotel to book me in but there was no need as I was the only one in the whole restaurant the service...was very good the food was ok they had a nice wine list and obviously Indian beer. I had sheesh kebab starter and chicken tikka main the starter was nice, the main was just average and toxic red, there breads where not very good, their Roti looked like their Nan's and had no taste. I guess I have eaten at far better Indian restaurants in the world so this place is just ok would not rush back but if you just a simple basic curry go and check it out. Like I said the service was excellent.
