Orchid Garden Eco-village - Belize

This review is long overdue. We stayed at this restaurant for a week in early March 2014, and we were greeted by the lovely owner every day. The food we enjoyed was delicious, gourmet, meticulously prepared, and served in generous portions. The staff at the eco-village were all incredibly friendly and helpful, and we even went on tours that they organized. The dining experience was truly exceptional!

This review is long overdue. We spent a week at this restaurant at the beginning of a fairy tale, and we were impressed by the amazing owner who greeted us every day. The food we had was exceptional - delicious, gourmet, carefully prepared, and generous portions. Everyone in the eco-village was incredibly friendly and helpful, and we also went on tours organized by them. However, the dining experience was truly outstanding.

As a vegetarian, I am used to finding the best salads on a menu, but at Orchid Gardens, there were always several courses of tasty, fresh, and incredibly satisfying vegetarian dishes. I never had to worry if the cook understood vegetarian diets. They also served meat and fish, and non-vegetarian guests seemed to enjoy their meals as well. The hotel catered to every type of eater, offering satisfying options for vegetarians, vegans, and raw foodists. Even after long days of outdoor activities, I was never left hungry. Many of the ingredients used in the dishes were grown on-site, ensuring everything was deliciously fresh. This may be the only place in Belize where you can get such a great vegetarian meal. I cannot comment on the price as it was included in my hotel package, but the overall cost of my trip was very reasonable.
