Room (Comfort Room) very clean and well facilitated; very grateful for air conditioning on such a hot day. Small balcony overlooking canal was a bonus. Luxury shower and separate WC. WIFI worked well. Charming host/owner who spoke good English and was abe to provide our Guedelon tickets (no extra charge). We opted to eat dinner, choosing a four-course menu at 28 euros p.p. (There is a variety of choices). Lovely food and good choice of wine. All well presented, with small appetizers offered too. Also, fun cocktails available (huge). We had pleasant walk along canal before our evening meal. Village is lovely - village fleuri. Huge choice of breakfast (self service) at 12.50, inc. ham, cheese, cereal, freshly squeezed fruit juice, boiled eggs, variety of coffees, teas, fresh pastries, bread, jam. We think the self-service arrangement worked well. Overall, we were delighted. You need to be prepared for the fact that the nuclear power station is close and can be seen from the back. As we stayed on Thursday, it was a music night which was very enjoyable; not intrusive. RECOMMENDED.
Enjoyed my lunch with three friends today Took us a little bit extra to find the place, since we are not from here.
Dude i'm yelping in france! up top! i thought that after experiencing no less than bone-in chicken wings, bulgogi, mayonnaise, head-, tail-, and
We ended up staying at the hotel at short notice as another hotel let us down at the last minute. As we didn't know much about the area, we opted to eat in the hotel restaurant and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food and the setting. Although it was a miserable rainy night on our visit, it must be lovely on a sunny evening as the patio area beside the canal is lovely (with shade available if required). We opted for the four course menu including a marvellous array of regional cheese at 28 euros. Very good value given quality of produce. The lady serving worked really hard and was very pleasant given our poor French. Total bill including quite a bit of wine and post dinner drinks for three people came to 128 euros. An unexpectedly good evening.
A highlight of our cycling touring holiday is when we can find a most enjoyable menu du jour and the food at the Terre De Loire was superb. A little more expensive than our usual lunch time meal, however, the three course lunch was one of our best during our ten week tour through France. A sign on the Canal would make it easier for cyclists to find.
