Alger Grille - Bellingham

Located just off the freeway, this restaurant is a perfect pit stop for a burger and a drink while driving along Old 99. On the day of my visit, the draft taps were down, so drinks were limited to bottled options, but there was a nice selection, including some local ciders. Although the burger was cooked a bit more than I usually like, it still had great flavor. The crispy bacon definitely added to the experience. And the tater tots? Delicious!

The food at this restaurant is consistently excellent, whether you’re in the mood for some quick and tasty fried items (the fried chicken is fantastic!) or if you're opting for a full meal. Usually, there's just one bartender and/or one server on duty, so when the place gets crowded, the service can be a little slow. However, that’s common at many places, and I appreciate that the staff at the Alger is always friendly.

I absolutely love the Grille! The Patty Melt is worth every step of the 5,000 miles I traveled to dine here! Be sure to try the meatballs as well—they're a must!

The best fried chicken around. Most often the staff are on point and friendly. I've been eating there for years ! Really, you owe it to yourself to try the chicken !!!!
