Full tea experience in a quiet, lovely setting. Bring a friend!
Firstly, the server was polite and friendly. We ordered a pot of tea and a French press coffee. Unfortunately, the coffee was undrinkable, tasting as if it had been brewed with a year-old batch of Folgers. Since this is a tea shop, I can overlook the poor coffee. However, the tea was equally disappointing—weak and served without any milk or sugar on the side. To top it off, an English tea room that doesn't offer traditional English scones is quite confusing! While they do serve scones, they are the American variety and not the authentic English kind. We politely mentioned the undrinkable coffee to the server, yet we were still charged for it. After paying, we decided to leave and find another place.
A friend brought me to this delightful tea garden, and I'm so glad she did! It's such a charming spot with outdoor seating. I tried the Abbey tea and opted for the oolong tea, along with salmon, cucumber, and egg salad sandwiches. I also had a side of fruit and the most delicious cream I've ever tasted! The scone was moist and flavorful on the inside with a perfectly golden, crusty exterior, served alongside warm butter and jam. Everything was excellent, but the scone definitely stole the show. I would travel all the way from Seattle just for that!
I always have a wonderful experience at this restaurant. They offer an impressive selection of large tea varieties, and the quality of the teas is excellent. Additionally, they have a wide range of tea sandwiches. My personal favorite is the cucumber and cream cheese, while my partner loves the curried chicken. Both are absolutely delicious!
