Feedback gevenI ordered a grilled chicken sandwich, but instead received a salad topped with chicken salad, which isn’t even on the menu. They do have a tuna salad option, so I have no idea what I ended up with—it's quite funny! It’s definitely a mystery meat situation. Being pregnant, I’m advised against eating chicken salad (or tuna) unless I prepare it myself. At least the pizza arrived without any issues!
I'm not sure what went wrong last night! We placed our order at 6:14, and the tracking indicated it would arrive by 7:35. However, the next update said the driver was on the way at 8:15. By 8:30, we were calling to check on our order, and they informed us that they would remake it. We found our ice-cold pizza, sandwich, and roasted veggies on our porch, and an hour later, a new order was left there. Unfortunately, instead of the paprika, bacon, and meatball pizza we had ordered, we received a Sicilian pizza with pineapple, mushrooms, and peppers, which we couldn't eat due to mushroom allergies. What a disappointment! We had hoped this place would be our go-to for Friday nights. They didn't even ring the doorbell!
The service was quite good; however, I waited 40 minutes for a slice of pizza and never received it.
We've been frequenting Comella's since it had only one location in West Newton. I miss those days... it seems with every new location the quality is diluted more and more. The Belmont location was decent... not on par with those early days... but still decent. Until recently anyway. Quality started getting inconsistent... which can happen in a place that probably has high employee turnover (HS kids, etc) which wasn't a huge deal, it was still edible. Unlike our most recent order (8/12)... which was kind of the last straw. My go to favorite... the veal alfredo arrived a brownish/black color with a heavy bitterness I had to spit out as soon as it touched my tongue. Unfortunately the taste had seeped down into the pasta, staining it brown and leaving it just as inedible. Ok... well at least I could share the kids meatballs. Oh wait... they forgot those. And they forgot the broccoli too. So basically all that was left was an order of pasta, a salad and soggy garlic bread for a family of four. It's unfortunate as we genuinely enjoyed this place. It was a good run.... but I think we're done.
We ordered 10 (ten! pizzas online in advance for my son?s birthday party. I called to confirm the order and and was told all looked good and that the pizzas would be delivered as instructed (5pm the next day . I was charged a $5 delivery fee and tipped $20 in advance. At 5:10pm the following day the pizzas hadn?t yet been delivered, so we called Comella?s and were told they did not have anyone to deliver them. WE had to call THEM to find out they couldn?t deliver, well AFTER the scheduled delivery time! When I asked why couldn?t they let me know in advance, the girl on the phone simply hung up. Meanwhile we had hungry guests waiting for food. We ended up picking the ten pizzas up ourselves ? they were lukewarm by the time we served them (at least 30 mins after the scheduled time , and we had little time to eat. I was told a manager would contact me to process a refund of some sort. It has now been almost two months, and no one has bothered to return my call. Terrible service. DO NOT order from here.
