The Jailhouse Whiskey Cigar - Belmont

It's not the renowned Jig Reel from Knoxville, but it's not bad for Gaston County. Be sure to try the Alberta Canadian Rye cask strength—it's likely the most enjoyable stop on my quest to appreciate rye, the quintessential American spirit. Apologies, but bourbon seems to be a late addition to the scene.

I’m giving this place three stars because it has a lot of potential to improve with just a bit more effort. The upstairs bar is quite nice and offers a wide variety of drinks. The cigar selection is somewhat limited but still decent. However, the lounge is far too cold and dark, and there aren’t enough ashtrays available. Additionally, they only provide matches instead of lighters, which makes it difficult to light cigars with the constant airflow from the vents. The cutter is located upstairs, so if you forget it, your options are to bite off the end the old-fashioned way or make the trek upstairs. If they address these issues, the lounge could easily become one of the best in the area.

The cocktails were absolutely delicious! The staff was wonderful as well! A special thanks to Chris for crafting the best drink for me when I requested something spicy, fruity, and sour. It turned out to be a spicy passion fruit margarita!

Very comfortable. Lots to look it end a large variety of drinks to choose from. Had a blast.

My man and I stopped while we were waiting for the seat in a restaurant close by and that was the perfect place to stop and grab drinks. the inner was very cozy perfect for couples or a date night! they can also buy a cigar and light up in the cigar room, which is a floor below the bar. I ordered the lavender lemon drop, which was amazing! it was strong, sweet and everything they want in a cocktail. husband got two others who were almost as good whisky based. highly recommended to stop at this place! we'll be back.
