Crusoe's On The Lake - Belmont

I have to say, it was busy, busy busy. 45 mins wait on a Saturday night. We ordered the seafood platter and the cold seafood was warm, crab tasted funny, bugs chewy. I'm no 100% sure it was fresh to be honest. The other meals looked great and we regretted we didn't order one. Next time I'll spend $140 at a co-op and bring it home so I know its fresh. I hope they pick their game up here, they could do much better with fresh, not frozen seafood. But if fresh, definitely get a new supplier. I get they were busy, but i was very disappointed. Regardless, its a great place. Great view, lots of people. I'd go back, but will give the platter a miss for sure, and order a fish dish instead. Great place, no need to dress up, everyone relaxed and casual. The 4th star was for the view.

Nice venue located on the lake with lovely views of the water and boats. The food was simple and delicious with a short wait that was expected because of the volume of orders that were taken. The music on the verandah was a little loud and made communicating challenging with the people at our table. Was a positive experience and would recommend and return in the future.

Perfect spot for a long lunch! Fantastic, fresh and flavoursome food matched by excellent customer service from staff such as Haydn. The bar has a good variety of wines to choose and the view of the lake is perfect. Put these all together and you will be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable and relaxing way to spend a afterooon .

Great location and food but service wasn't as good. Mixed orders, fingers in food as it was delivered, getting a pot of tea with tea-leaves but no hot water in the pot and when staff told about it getting a tepid water in the cup to pour in the pot wasn't the best experience. Service staff need training in service and hygiene procedures.
