Roam - Bend

Roam has some work yet to do. It’s a nice-looking place with the big windows. But main complaint is the noise level. It is terrible. You have to practically scream at the person across the table from you. Roam is very aware of the problem, and say they are trying to fix it. I hear the back corner, farthest from the bar, is the worst for noise, and we were seated near there. If there is a next time, I would ask to be seated at one of the tables in the bar area, fairly quiet in there. Also, I ordered the filet mignon, and at that price, it should have absolutely NO fat or gristle. Mine had some and even tho it was cooked to my specs (med/rare), it was a bit tough. I can cook a steak on par with Bo’s Taurus on my grill at home better than that. So, I would give it another try later, after they fix the acoustics, or sit in the bar area. I would not recommend Roam until they fix the noise.

Restaurant was extremely noisy to the point we could not hear each other even though we were sitting next to one another. It was a Friday night and the place was packed, so that also contributed to the noise. Food and drinks were excellent. Table service was also great. They need some fabric panels to absorb some noise.

We had a wonderful meal started with the lobster cakes and the scallops, then the Roam salad followed by the lamb shank and finished with the chocolate truffle. Exceptional flavors and presentation. Our waiter was prompt, polite and friendly too. Only reason for not stars is than our table was next to the door and it was drafty.

The atmosphere is beautiful. The menu is delightful. Our server was Justin and he took such great care of us! We will be asking for Justin specifically the next time we visit ROAM. His recommendations were perfect for us!

My group had a wonderful experience at ROAM. The food was really good there were many of us and a variety of dishes were tried. The service outstanding and lovely ambiance. I would definitely go back!
