Sailor Jack's - Benicia

If you have food allergies, you may want to reconsider this restaurant. My first visit. A friend and I were going to share the beet salad and the sole, and asked the server if the portion size was enough to share. We stated we wanted to share both dishes. When asked what ‘sides’ we wanted (we couldn’t find them listed on menu) server listed them and we chose, asparagus and green beans. When the food arrived it was beautiful and plentiful, however there was no extra plate for splitting. Then I noticed something red under the sole and had my friend identify the vegetable bell peppers. I am deathly allergic to bell peppers. The sides (asparagus and green beans) were mixed together with red bell peppers and onions. The vegetable mixture was NOT described with the sole. I mentioned, being deathly allergic to bell peppers, to the to server and her first response was she could get me an order of asparagus for $6. She showed no concern for my health. Bell peppers are NOT mentioned on the menu or I we would not have ordered the dish. Her complete lack of concern, (when I identified my allergy), for my severe allergy and then wanting to charge for other vegetable, is unacceptable. Dietary restrictions: There is gluten free. Menu did not describe vegetables so I did NOT inform server of my severe allergy to bell peppers. Parking: Parking lot is provided , but it is limited and pretty tight.

A fun place for a late lunch mid week. Sat outside in a protected patio beautiful views without the wind impacting our enjoyment of the great food.

Ordered the filet medium rare, it was the chewy and dry, like it was frozen and then defrosted . I should have have sent it back but anniversary dinner and it wasn't worth the effort to complain. should have gone to The Dead Fish Get the burger or fish and chips, and don't expect fine dinning then you might not be too disappointed. Me I'm never going back, and I've been going to this location since it was Nantucket's .

I had a wonderful experience eating near the sea, good food

We stopped in for a cocktails and oysters two dozen! Our waitress was very attentive and very courteous ! We always stop in at Sailor Jack's when in town ????
