Le Tourne-dos - Bénodet

Visited with 2 children whilst on holiday In Fousnant, after reading the reviews we were expecting great things. Table booked for 7pm arrived to find doors locked. Upon opening we were greater in a very welcoming manor, shown to our table and given the menu. The menu is quite limited, just chicken and chips or fish and chips, chicken had obviously been pre cooked and only just warm, no starter available for children. Children food arrived very quickley and we had not been served our starter. Starter was a veg tart tatin with a soggy buttom, for mai course we selected faux filet steak, still unsure what cut it was but it was like a very thin 5mm sirloin, I asked for a very well done but had to send it back as it still had a heart beat, when I was returned to me it was still pink. Dessert was ok but you can't really mess up ice cream. Our waiter was very inexperienced and continually reached over us to both serve and clear plates. Overall a very expensive let down

Thoroughly enjoyed dinner here, it’s just outside Benodet. The UFO concept is fun, but also makes for a very well designed restaurant space although most tables were taken, it didn’t feel loud or hectic. The food is excellent and the owners and other staff very friendly and knowledgable. My husband had the baked Camembert and moules marinières with excelllent homemade chips, and as a nearly vegetarian it had the best choices I’ve found here, a tasty tarte tatin of summer veg to start and a fantastic tomato salad with buffalo mozzarella but there were other options too. Good range of desserts. Excellent cider and the best Virgin Mojito I’ve had (I can’t drink alcohol so always good to have some grown up alternatives). Good selection of herbal and other teas and coffee. A very pleasant vibe. Good options for children’s meals too. Would definitely return when back in the area.

Everything is excellent, from the kitchen to the service! Very welcoming restaurant. You can go with your eyes closed!!
