The Trio of Buns dessert tastes like my childhood, and each one has a different filling paste flavor: white has standard custard, pink is taro, and green's filling is extra smooth and tasted like tapioca or condensed milk. Highly, highly recommend if you like subtly sweet desserts; my whole house was lamenting we hadn't ordered more. Other notes from our order: The BBQ Pork Bao is really well stuffed and not dry at all: a really great choice. The Pork XLB really hits the craving for soup dumplings, even if they're not the best I've ever had. Perhaps they're better eaten ASAP rather than as takeout? The Garlicky Green Beans are exactly what they say on the tin, and they will slap you with that good, good garlic flavor.
I've tried delivery from here twice now and both times it has been pretty bad. Dumplings arrive soggy and over cooked, spring rolls taste like they were just from some frozen food aisle. I love this spot in sf but maybe the Berkeley location isn't as good? The wings delivered fine, and were tasty. Sad experience though, and won't be ordering a third time.
Good place. Not great. Sadly, the chili pork dumpling was flavorless. Luckly the shrimp pork siu Mia was amazing! So much flavor! The tofu was the second best. Its good, but not something that I would order again. Would go back for the sui mia!
The Maine Lobster Siu Mai was delicious and the BBQ Pork Bao so stuffed and meaty! a delight to find so close to home.
Better to eat in person than to get takeout!
