Defne Restaurant - Berlin

We dined at Defne during a week long stay in Berlin. The food was delicious order anything that comes with lamb! and we enjoyed sitting outside and watching the bustle along the canal. Having not yet been to Kreuzberg, we took the opportunity to walk around its central streets after dinner. Although Defne certainly had young diners and has tables that accommodate large groups, it is in a quieter section and a bit more refined that many other restaurants in the district.

Came back here after 5y. It is the best Turkish restaurant outside of turkey to my experience. One step down from fine dining experience. I had octopus as starter (oh my tastebuds for that tomato sauce) and alinazik for the main course.

I have visited Defne three times when I visited Berlin and always left the restaurant full and happy. Their air-dried sujuck pastrami with hommis and pistachio is amazing. I can also recommend their octopus in spicy sauce. The staff is friendly and the atmosphere nice. Good for dates and share the food.

A good choice for a calm evening meal outdoors. The food is of good quality, but not always very authentic. The service was friendly, but the cleanliness could be better. They have a nice range of wine. The inside is a bit on the simple and dark side, but with athmosphere. Great ice cream next door.

Wonderful service and food! Grilled Octopus was delicious as were the meat and meze platters!
