This is not the sort of place you'd stumble upon as a visitor to Berlin.I was invited to dinner as a guest with other business associates. What a great place. We had a wonderful dinner, all very well presented with great flavours and high quality service. The tomato soup entree, roast duck main and creme caramel desert were just divine. This was most certainly the fine dining highlight of my recent trip to Germany.Highly recommended in you're in the area.
Well, chances that you end up here as a tourist are small. "Heideröschen" is more of a country inn in one of the quieter areas of Berlin in the middle of a park/ wood. We´ve been here on invitation to celebrate a birthday. We had brunch on a Saturday. Unfortunately we weren´t a really large group: 20-30 people. So the food was prepared at the beginning and stay there until the end. Some food suffered, so the "Kaiserschmarrn" was pretty dried out after 2 hours.Vegetarian options were limited. There was salad, of course, and cheese but warm food was limited to noodles (Spätzle, to be precise), baked potatoes and spinach (which came along with the salmon). It was somewhat difficult to keep an adequate temperature in the room. The heating was obivously turned up to high, so that the door had to stay open all of the time, which generated a chilly breeze at some places.Service was friendly and efficient, maybe somewhat to boisterous.
