After moving to Germany I missed a few philippine dishes and this place hit the place! It was actual Filipino dishes, not Filipino-ish dishes adapted to a German pallet. The prices were reasonable. The only reason I don't give a full 5 stars is because the food was a little slow to get out. I guess you can at least say that the food is made fresh to order
We visited Berlin for a day to see the monuments, etc and I looked up online if there’s a Filipino restaurant and found Pinoy! I was really excited because there’s none in Munich where we’re staying for Oktoberfest. We get to the place and no...one is there. Maybe because it was around 3pm and everyone is done eating but nevertheless it was open! The owner greeted us and greeted me in Tagalog and I instantly felt home. I was afraid the service was gonna take long since all the reviews said that but obviously it didn’t because we were the only customer there! We ordered drinks, rice, sisig, and lechon kawali because we’ve been craving those. All were really good. The sisig is different and it has bell peppers which I didn’t mind. The thing is that Filipinos always expect food to be just like their moms or grandmas cooking and it will never be so stop having those expectations! Needless to say, the food was great and the service was good. The owner was so nice and polite and she asked me why we were there and where were from. She told me that they are one of the 3 restaurants in the whole Germany and I felt so proud of her for opening one! The place was clean and easy to find- we took an Uber there before heading to the airport. We ate all the food and actually everything was so affordable! The food was cheap compared to the Filipino food here in America! I recommend this place if you are craving Filipino food! The owner even complimented me and asked me where I was from the Philippines and I said from Manila and she said “that’s why you’re so pretty! Because you’re from Manila!” Haha what a nice compliment I got!
We were there for lunch. We didn't have much choice but I took the chicken and my wife took the beef. We got a small ball of very strange soup but it tasted ok. Would have been nice to know what was inside though. The...portions were big, although the rice was clearly heated by microwave which is a bit poor. Im not sure I will go back soon
Went here on a Sunday evening. The waitress was obviously very stressed, spoke English, not impolite but just curt. It was also quite loud with a couple of families with small kids not using their indoor voices . But it was very clean, nice decor and...the food came quickly. A lot of choice, never had Filipino food before so did a bit of research beforehand apparently it has a big Spanish influence, though we chose dishes that seemed more Thai, but not as spicy. We had a chicken curry with potato and bell pepper, it came with plain rice, and I really enjoyed the flavours. Other people were ordering sizzling dishes which smelt delicious. All in all, I can recommend this restaurant if you want to try something a little bit different, the prices were very reasonable and the whole place had a very family run atmosphere, which was nice. And at the end when I told the waitress how delicious the food was she actually smiled!
