Feedback gevenI make a point to come here at least once every visit to Bern due to the fantastic list of beers on tap. Typically you'll find at least a dozen offerings from all over Europe. When it comes to beer, service and atmosphere, it's a five-star place for me.The food from the attached restaurant is pretty spotty, however. They have a burger made from beef tartare that can either be amazing or middling, depending on who is in the kitchen. When cooked perfectly, it's barely warm in the center, and smothered with special caramelized onions. On one visit, it came to the table with a slab of raclette on top, which made it even better. While a welcome treat for me, the raclette treatment is not mentioned on the menu card, and I haven't been able to get a repeat, even by asking.Unfortunately the last time I dined here, the burger was cooked all the way to well done and was lacking the onions. My dinner partner's tartare burger was also tragically incinerated, but his came with the usual onion treatment. I'm not sure any burger is really worth CHF 25 (about $26,) but this time I felt genuinely ripped off paying for it.From what I understand, the food comes from the restaurant next door, so it could be that the stuff they send over to Erzbierschof doesn't always get maximum love.
One of the biggest choices of fantastic beers from all over the world. Always worth going again, as they swich tabs quite often. Surprizing every time. Wonderful people, good atmosphere.
I go there quite a bit and discover new beers on every visit. Wonderful location to chat with friends, and enjoy one of their burgers and crisps! Prices are fair and it's much more central than the Bar in Liebefeld
