Feedback gevenI'm not clever enough to scribe a review worthy of our lunch today (28/05/23)!! We both had the plat and dessert du jour, cuisse de canard and strawberry and rhubarb pavlova. FANTASTIC food and superb service delivered with a relaxed yet professional touch. Add to this the lovely setting and perfection is an inadequate description. BUT don't be disappointed, reserve a table or get there early, as its popularity speaks volumes.
Lovely setting, and attentive service, but limited menu mainly cheese and ham main courses. We had croque Monsieur (good), goats cheese salad (good) and chicken ballotine (a little dry and lacking a sauce).
To start with the menu is rather limited (if you like cheese and ham you 'll be ok and things got worse from there on in...We weren 't allowed to sit where we wanted, the daily special was inedible and the waiter ran away and hid when we politely pointed out that we wouldn 't have served food like that to our children on a Sunday night when the fridge was almost empty. Flambéed king prawns with black rice and pesto vegetables turned out to be at least 500g of undercooked black rice served in a bowl with two or three tasteless prawns on the top (flambéed in thin air maybe? and a few undercooked carrots, the whole thing swimming in about 300ml of oil and completely devoid of any seasoning. We only realised there was meant to be pesto when they took the specials board away. We are not difficult restaurant customers and are not used to complaining but this was just OUTRAGEOUS!!
