The Old Schoolhouse Inn - Bethel

We stopped for lunch on a very busy Sunday. Only 2 waiters who have worked out their hearts and have done an amazing job. Everything was amazing. The food was cooked as ordered. The bathrooms were large and clean. We loved looking at all souvenirs from so many hunting trips.

Great food and bar. Great atmosphere. Many parking spaces. Good service. Wheelchair ramp rear. Dive inside or outside the weather permit. Would recommend to everyone to visit.

Excellent selection of dishes and drinks. The service is personal and they are not fusy to help you make your meal. This is my second visit here and it still seems to be a good restaurant.

It should be a special birthday dinner. We went to this restaurant for over an hour. The restaurant wasn't busy since it was a Tuesday. The evening started well. The waitress took our orders. He fell apart. The salad bar was a craving. The Italian dressage was almost frozen. The salad was past its tip. The soda was flat. How to drink syrup. And you pay for refills. I've ordered a stuffed file. What came out was a regular act. When I asked the court, the waitress looked like a deer in the headlights. She took it back. When it came back, it was mutilated to fillet a badly presented mess and dressed with an overpowering herbal cheese and Bland Demiglaze. And the baked potato that was supposed to come with her disappeared. Back to the kitchen. Overcooked potato. No butter. Some mostly frozen butter from the salad bar. Spouse ordered seafood with twice baked potato. Get regularly boiled potato. Back in the headlights. Back to the kitchen. birthday boy ordered chicken parm. The chicken was frozen before. Just a chicken in a plate. To say the least. When I asked where the page was... there's that look back. Back to the kitchen. I robbed Pasta. Now the birthday person is a person who literally eats everything. And usually the rest of our dinners also ends. And he didn't finish his meal. Hardly managed to eat half. There were no excuses for all the mistakes and problems. Nothing. Everyone was just talking about his business as if our whole dinner wasn't ruined. And $165 bill before tip to boot. I had high expectations. Of course I was very disappointed. Waste of money and what should have been a beautiful birthday night.

This place was recommended to us to stay local when visiting a friend who has a summer house in the area. We had no idea how adorable this place would be! We opted for the King room (suite) which had a jacuzzi and sauna, our own back porch and backyard area and it was truly lovely! The price was a bit high but it was a holiday weekend so that's understandable. The restaurant seemed very popular but we chose not to eat there as we are animal lovers and there were stuffed taxidermy creatures in every inch of the place. That part wasn't for us... They do have a cute outdoor seating area though... All in all we were very happy and it was a wonderful experience!!! ?
