Sweet coffee place! Had a dirty Chai latte with oat milk and really enjoyed
The coffee and the gelato were delicious. the gelato was quite rich, almost chewable. all the aromen were excellent. also the staff was very friendly.
I want to start by saying that I believe no business should be allowed to operate if they don’t accept cash as a payment method. Recently, I visited Dolcezza in Bethesda to pick up a pint of ice cream. When the clerk brought the ice cream to me and I began to take cash from my purse, she informed me that they only accept credit cards. Personally, I choose not to use credit cards for purchases like this due to my lifestyle and money management practices. Eventually, she made an exception, and I was able to get my ice cream, which was indeed delicious. However, since I offered cash, she simply placed it in the tip jar and didn’t give me my change. While I don't hold the clerk responsible, I do believe the management is at fault. Refusing to accept cash means they should forfeit their right to do business with the public. This policy unfairly discriminates against low-income individuals as well as those who prefer to manage their budgets and lifestyles by paying with cash rather than through phone apps or credit cards. I urge my elected representatives on the Montgomery County Council to pass an ordinance that requires all brick-and-mortar businesses, including restaurants, to accept cash payments.
We had a great experience overall, giving a total rating of 3.75. We found that we actually prefer their sorbet coffee over the gelato. The coffee, specifically the Gibraltar, was very good, rated at 4. It combines equal parts espresso and steamed milk foam. The watermelon limemade sorbet was quite refreshing, also rated at 4. As for the gelato, we tried the coffee cookies, which we rated at 3.75—it was good, but a bit icy. The black and white cookie gelato got a 3.5, and while it was good, it didn't quite stand out.
