By the standards of its surroundings — a suburban shopping mall — Frank Pepe's of Bethesda offers adequate pizza and decent value for money. By the standards of its namesake, Frank Pepe's of New Haven, it does not deserve to call itself by that name. The original Frank Pepe's is a legendary pizzeria, one of the world's iconic pizzerias, with some of the best-tasting dough anywhere. The dough at the Bethesda location is, quite frankly, suburban mall pizza. Somewhere between the recipe, the ingredients, and the kitchen training, quite a lot was missed. They should change the name. The existence of this suburban mediocrity is hurting the brand.

Disappointing...sure not like the original in New Haven. The dough is tough and hard. Very difficult to cut with a knife. Wait staff is great though.

Great pizza! I love the location and had a great experience.
