Pizza Express Bexleyheath

The restaurant lacks service and only seems interested in providing takeaway orders. The food was completely unsatisfactory. They should decide whether they want to focus on being a dine-in restaurant or strictly a takeaway establishment and strive to excel in one area.

We sat down and ordered lasagna, pizza, coleslaw, and chips. Unfortunately, everything except the lasagna was dry and tasteless. When asked if we wanted dessert, we requested for the pizza to be refired as it was not satisfactory. However, we were told that it would not be refired. Overall, our dining experience was disappointing and we felt like we did not get to fully enjoy our meal. The only saving grace was the olives and dough balls, which were the only items worth eating at the restaurant.

Booked our son's birthday party here, arrived a little early and they were more than happy to see us early, meaning we were perfectly lined up to accept our guests as they started to arrive and didn't have to wait around to get things going; the kids were able to just walk in the door and take their seats. For £15 a head their kids' parties are an absolute bargain, as they get a plate of dough balls each, the chance to make their own pizza and an ice cream at the end! Effectively they get a three course meal for under £20! Staff were more than accomodating as I've touched on above, with the manager advising the adults that if we downloaded the Pizza Express app we could get free doughballs, and water was provided for the adults table, so rather than simply being there to supervise the kids the adults were made to feel a part of things, and while we were advised that we could order food and drinks if we chose to, at no point were we made to feel that we were obliged to do so. The staff were very good with the kids, showing them how the pizza gets prepared and mesmerising them with the dough toss, as well as being incredibly friendly above and beyond the standard you'd expect. The children clearly felt at ease, and so did the adults!
