I'm leaning towards 2 stars, but I wouldn't say enough about the staff. You can also get the food in a snack bar, canned soup. The staff does their best. On the other hand, the rooms are good, albeit noisy. All in all, the hotel has the potential to make something of it. We came to stay a night in this hotel on Sunday 22/10/ '23, the rooms are basic, it was cozy and tidy with a beautifully kept garden! In the evening we had a delicious dinner with a delicious house wine, in short, review only after you know what you have paid! We will come back in the spring because the area is beautiful and certainly a compliment to the new owners, these Dutch people really do their best. The hotel is in a great location. From here you can go hiking, explore Bitburg, Prüm or Trier. I can recommend Café Alsen in Prüm. Homemade cakes just like grandma made. Because there are really few bakers in the area. The staff at Theis Mühle is very friendly and helpful. We were looking forward to fresh rolls and cakes, but unfortunately the bakery that used to be here no longer exists. Despite the baked rolls, breakfast was okay and we were full. The coffee and juice was great. We liked the barbecue evening on Saturday as well as the welcome drinks purchased as part of the deal. It's a shame that there were only cold side dishes. Fritjes or croquettes would have been nice. The hotel room needs to be renovated. It is spacious, but you can see the ravages of time. The owners are also in the process of modernizing the hotel. We are excited to see how it develops.
